The contempt petition filed by Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise Ltd (NICE) in the Supreme Court against the Karnataka government on the latter's intention to transfer the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project to a US-based consortium, has been adjourned for two weeks.

The petition is in response to an affidavit filed by the state government before the Supreme Court requesting for the BMIC project, which NICE is executing, to be handed over to the Global Infrastructure Consortium (GIC) comprising companies from India and the US.

The consortium has offered to complete the expressway within seven years, construct a monorail from Electronic City to the new airport at Devanahalli, pay penalties for delays and return excess land.
