Nicholas Piramal India today reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 45.60 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2005 as against Rs 55.77 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2004. According to a release issued by Nicholas Piramal India to the BSE today, total income was Rs 368.10 crore in Q2FY06 as against Rs 382.12 crore in Q2FY05. "The results for the quarter ended September 30, 2005 are not strictly comparable with the figures of the corresponding period of the previous year as the current quarter's figures include operations of the global inhalation anaesthetics (IA) business of Rhodia after its acquisition by the company effective January 10, 2005. It also includes operations of Golwilkar only for the period April 1, 2005 to June 30, 2005. The numbers do not include operation of the diagnostics business from Roche pursuant to a settlement for discontinuance effective January 1, 2005, and the operation of Boots Piramal, a joint venture company, in which the company has 49% share," the release added. The board has appointed Keki Dadiseth as a director, the release said. |
