NIIT launches NIIT Imperia, to offer IIM progs

NIIT today launched a new institute, NIIT Imperia, to offer management programmes to working executives.

This marks the company's entry into the management education space. The institute would set up advanced learning centres and using, synchronous learning technology, offer programmes from Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) at Ahmedabad, Calcutta and Indore to working executives.NIIT Imperia has already set up six centres of advanced learning at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Banglore and Hyderabad.

"This is a unique example of public-private partnership, where India's premier institutes in the formal education space have joined hands with Asia's largest private-sector training company, to provide a solution that the country will benefit from," Rajendra S Pawar, chairman of NIIT, said.

NIIT Imperia would offer long and short-term programmes in general and functional management to working executives. While the content, teaching and certification would be from one of the IIMs, the technology, synchronous classrooms across the country and the management of the distributed education system would be provided by NIIT.
