Nikon Corporation, today said that they hope to capture 45 per cent of Indian digital SLR market and 10 per cent of the Indian compact camera market by 2010. It also announced the establishment of its 100 per cent subsidiary in India with an aim to manage its Indian and Middle East operations and achieve the said market share. By the end of 2006-07 Nikon plans a more than 100 per cent expansion in retail consumer outreach through its dealer network. It will also introduce 5 new models of COOLPIX and 2 models of D-SLR cameras by year end. "The presence of Nikon India will lead to enhanced consumer choice and greater consumer outreach programmes through augmented distribution network as well as superior service support," said Hidehiko Tanaka, MD, Nikon India. |
