Nirma Q3 net up 43%, to enter pharma biz

Nirma today reported a 42.63% increase in net profit at Rs 100.50 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2005 when compared with Rs 70.46 crore in Q3FY05.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE today, total income increased to Rs 461.37 crore in Q3FY06 from Rs 457.24 crore in Q3FY05.

The board has cleared a proposal to enter into new business activities of manufacturing drugs & pharmaceuticals as permitted under the object clause of the memorandum of association of the company, the release added.
