For first time ever since its inception, Chemozale, the annual technical symposium organised by the Chemical Engineering Students' Association (ChESA) of Institute of Technology, Nirma University, has invited international participants this year. Being held for the 11th time, Chemozale 2010 is following the theme of 'Sustainable Development' with a focus on 'zero carbon footprint'.
"Through inviting international participation from organisations like South Asian Youth Environment Network (SAYEN), 350.org, TiE, Innocentive, NBSO – Holland, and IDP - Australia, the event aims to provide an international platform for students from all over the globe to interact and network. Participants from nine countries are here. Moreover, much importance and focus is being placed on 'zero carbon footprint' wherein special workshops on 'Carbon Credits', 'Solar Cells', 'Climate Change', and 'Copenhagen-15' are being held," said Swapnil Agrawal, convenor, Chemozale 2010.
Apart from 1024 college students from 164 colleges in 16 states, industry delegates and academicians are also participating in the event. The two-day event, which began being conducted in 1999, is also conducting an exhibition, EnvironTech’10.
