NIS Academy, an education division of NIS Sparta Ltd ( a Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group company), is planning to open 30 more centres pan India taking the total number of centres to 60 by the end of this fiscal. In the northern region, it would open branches at Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala, Shimla and Jammu. |
"In view of increasing popularity of our courses and response from the student, we are further expanding our centres. At present we have 30 centres across India and intends to open 30 more in this fiscal year," Muralidhar Rao, president & COO, NIS Sparta, said. |
The expansion of NIS is being seen as a boon for the region as through its centres the academy will eventually link thousands of students from the region to professionally rewarding programmes which have led to greater employment opportunities. |
He said that the new centre would be a combination of franchise model and exclusive company owned. |
The academy, which functions as an education division of NIS Sparta Limited, kicked off its maiden venture in Chandigarh. The classes for the first batch are slated to start on August 20, for the MBA and BBA courses affiliated with Annamalai University and the NIS Academy's PGDAM and ADMAS courses. |
He said, "The NIS Academy offers specialised courses in various industry verticals to bridge the gap between the demand for jobs in these areas and those seeking to get employed. Besides having good industrial base, the region around Chandigarh is also fast becoming an IT/ ITeS hub and our expansion will help address the demand for skilled manpower in the region." |
Unveiling the services which Academy would be rendering, Rao informed that initially the Chandigarh NIS centre will provide Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Management (PGDAM), Advanced Diploma in Marketing and Applied Skills (ADMAS),MBA and BBA programs in Applied Management and a programme in Effective Communication and Personality Development (EPCD). |
Through its education centres, the academy offers educational services to a large number of students, professionals and first time employment seekers. |
The academy performs a two-pronged role: set up education centres to impart skills for long term career growth in Sales & Marketing, Customer Service and Applied Management and second, operate the School of Employability (SOE) initiative offering employability-linked vocational courses to employment seekers. |
