NIST installs hybrid renewable energy centre

The National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST), a private engineering college at Berhampur in Orissa has become the first institute in the state to install a Hybrid Renewable Energy Centre.

Sangram Muduli, director of NIST inaugurated the centre at the campus recently in the presence of deputy director of the state government owned Orissa Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) A K Choudhury.

Choudhury appreciated the NIST Renewable Energy Club for its multifarious activities for creating awareness among students.

The Hybrid Power centre will use solar and wind energy to generate 5 KW of green energy which will illuminate EDC building at the NIST campus.
