Nitin Paranjpe to take over as CEO of HUL |

Nitin Paranjpe will be taking over as managing director and chief executive officer, Hindustan Unilever (HUL), from Douglas Baillie. According to a release issued by HUL to the BSE today, Baillie will be joining the Unilever executive team and taking on the role of president, Western Europe. Paranjpe is currently executive director, home & personal care, and his new appointment will be subject to approval of shareholders in April, the release added. Harish Manwani, chairman, HUL, said: "The changes reflect our strong commitment towards leadership development and our tradition of leveraging experiences and synergies of talent across markets. I wish to take the opportunity to express my deep appreciation for the significant contribution that Doug has made to the business in India and in driving the growth agenda. Nitin brings with him significant experience of managing business and functional strengths in sales and marketing. I am confident that Nitin will bring further impetus to the company's growth agenda." The announcement has come as part of a number of changes undertaken by Unilever in its structure and better align the organisation to support the growth agenda.
