NMDC, a premier mining PSU with 'Navratna' status, today said that it has been conferred on the India Pride Award for CSR excellence for the year 2008-09.
NMDC Chairman and Managing Director Rana Som received the award from Home Minister P Chidambaram at a function at New Delhi on Friday last, the company said in a release here.
The award has been given in recognition of NMDC's sustained efforts for improvement of quality life of underprivileged through various innovative Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, it said.
