NMDC Q2 net dips 18% at Rs 771 cr

Mining firm NMDC today reported an 18.42 per cent decline in net profit of Rs 770.85 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2009.

The company had a net profit of Rs 944.93 crore in the September quarter of FY'09, NMDC said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Total income declined to Rs 1,565.76 crore during the period, from Rs 1,857.27 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.

For the half year ended September, NMDC posted a net profit of Rs 1,544.60 crore, a 20 per cent decline over that in the year-ago period.

Income from operations dropped to Rs 2,668.18 crore during the six month period, from Rs 3,290.47 crore in the year ago period.

 

Shares of NMDC closed at Rs 317.80, up 2.22 per cent over previous close on BSE.
