State-run National Mining Development Corporation (NMDC) today reported a marginal increase in net profit at Rs 1,021.19 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009.
The mining firm had a net profit of Rs 1,016.97 crore in the March quarter of FY08, NMDC said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The total income rose 4.47 per cent to Rs 2,161.75 crore during the March quarter, from Rs 2,069.25 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
The board has declared a dividend of 118 per cent at the rate of Rs 1.18 a piece, on shares of face value of Re 1 each, for the financial year ended March 31, 2009.
For the financial year ended March 31, NMDC posted a net profit of Rs 4,372.38 crore, up 34.49 per cent over the year ago period. It had a net profit of Rs 3,250.98 crore in FY08.
Total income rose 32.38 per cent to Rs 8,448.07 crore during FY09, from Rs 6,381.84 crore in the previous fiscal.
Shares of NMDC closed at Rs 449.10, up 6.35 per cent on the BSE.
