No More Free Rides On Air-India, Indian Airlines

Complimentary passes, a euphemism for free rides on Air-India and Indian Airlines, will stop.

Civil aviation minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, in his first assertive move, has banned free tickets and has simultaneously asked the ministry to re-check the list of persons to whom such tickets were issued by Air-India last year.

Indian Airlines has since withdrawn all free passes, a senior airline executive said.

While Air-India has been offering up to 3,000
