Nokia, ITC e-Choupal partner to offer agri-content

Handset giant Nokia and corporate major ITC have entered into a partnership to provide agricultural content to rural communities and farmers.

This joint initiative will offer personalised agri services on the Nokia Life Tools to farmers, Nokia said in a statement.

Nokia Life Tools is a range of agriculture information and education services targeted at non-urban consumers.

The content would be provided in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan with more states being added over time. This partnership aims at providing customised information flow based on the needs of farmers by providing regular and updated information from 6,500 ITC e-Choupal centres spread across 40,000 villages in 10 states.

 

Nokia India Vice-President D Shivakumar said, "Our association with ITC e-Choupal would further enrich the Nokia Life Tools service and will provide farmers across states with the right information at the right time.
