Nokia wins Rs 635cr BSNL deal

Nokia has bagged a Rs 635 crore deal from BSNL for network expansion in the northern India mobile operations.

As per the deal, Nokia will provide equipment for GSM/EDGE and GPRS network expansion project of BSNL in north India.

This expansion deal is an extension of a $ 284 million GSM/EDGE and GPRS contract signed between Nokia and BSNL in 2004.

"This is an important network expansion to BSNL as we strive to offer the best network coverage and capacity to our subscribers," G S Grover, director (commercial and marketing) of BSNL, said.
