This wireless connectivity will help students and staff to use voice, data and other multimedia applications anywhere on the campus, said a release from the company.
The company will implement its wireless Mesh and Wimax technology to offer the services, it added.
This solution from Nortel provide high-bandwidth capabilities across several kilometres in the unlicensed 5.8 GHz band, said the release.
"Nerist anticipates over 70 per cent savings on network operational costs by selecting Nortel's wireless mesh network technology rather that a standard WiFi solution," Nortel India MD Hitesh Lokhandwala said.
Nortel's solution will help the educational institute to implement educational techniques like video conferencing, tele-classrooms and webcasts of lectures for distance learning, the release added.
