National Spot Exchange (NSEL) today said its e-series bullion products, e-Gold and e-Silver, posted a record turnover of Rs 115 crore on Thursday.

E-Gold recorded a turnover of Rs 37.17 crore, while e-Silver's turnover was Rs 77.59 crore, NSEL said in a statement here.

In terms of lots, e-Gold's turnover was 1.87 lakh lots, while e-Silver attained a turnover of 2.22 lakh lots.

E-Gold and e-Silver are demat units of the physical gold and silver, which are traded in electronic form at NSEL.

"The overwhelming response received by e-Gold and e-Silver has convinced us about investment appetite for e-series products. It is value for money for investors, who are diversifying their portfolios through these products," NSEL MD and CEO Anjani Sinha said.

NSEL is the only exchange in the country to offer such a product, it said, adding that it will launch around 25 commodities under e-Series basket for promoting savings and investment in commodities.
