NTPC FY06 net at Rs 5,841cr

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has posted a net profit of Rs 5840.8 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006, when compared with Rs 5828.6 crore for FY05.

According to an official release issued to the BSE today, total income has increased to Rs 29612.4 crore for FY06 from Rs 26512.5 crore in FY05.
The company has posted a net profit of Rs 1566.3 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 when compared to Rs 2293.4 crore for Q4FY05. Total income has increased to Rs 7914.6 crore for Q4FY06 from Rs 7768.3 crore in Q4FY05.

The board has recommended final dividend of 8% of paid up equity share capital in addition to the interim dividend paid of 20% of paid up equity share capital in February 2006.
