The state-run power producer, NTPC, has paid a total dividend of Rs 3,133.27 crore for 2010-11.
The shareholders of the company had approved a final dividend of eight per cent of the total paid-up capital at Rs 659.64 crore at the annual general meeting on September 20, the company said in a statement.
NTPC had earlier paid to an interim dividend of Rs 2,090.21 crore in February 2011. In another development, NTPC SAIL Power Company (NSPCL), a joint venture between NTPC and SAIL, recorded a total income of Rs 1,954.09 crore during the year 2010-11 as against Rs 1,400.75 crore during 2009-10. The net profit-after-tax stood at Rs 191.34 crore during the year 2010-11.
The JV company has paid out a dividend of 11 per cent of its equity for the year 2010-11 to its two equity shareholders – NTPC Limited and SAIL of a total amount Rs 104.56 crore.
The statement said NSPCL has taken well planned measures in various areas of operation including adoption of best operation and maintenance practices for sustained performance and continuous improvement.
