NTPC plans 900 MW project in Sri Lanka

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) is planning to submit a proposal to the government of Sri Lanka to set up a 900 MW coal/LNG based power project in Sri Lanka on build, own, operate (BOO)/ build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis.

According to a release issued by NTPC to the BSE, the company is also also entering into an MoU with the government of Bihar and Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB) for the transfer of Muzzaffarpur Thermal Power Station, 2 X 110 MW at Kanti, district Muzaffarpur in Bihar to the proposed joint venture of the company and BSEB.
