NTPC plans JV to take over Muzaffarpur power unit

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Bihar and Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB) for taking over 2x110 MW Muzaffarpur thermal power plant.

According to a release issued by NTPC to the BSE today, the power plant would be taken over by a joint venture company, which will be a subsidiary of NTPC.

While NTPC will have 51% stake in the JV company, BSEB will hold the remaining 49%, the release added.
