NTPC to import 25,000tn LNG

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) will import 25,000 tonne of LNG over the next three months to meet shortages at its various power plants.

"We will buy 25,000 tonne of LNG as spot cargo," T Shankerlingam, chairman of NTPC, said.

The company is also looking at various sites for setting up a nuclear power plant, he added.
