Country's largest power producer NTPC today said it would pick up 76 per cent equity each in two thermal power projects in Jharkhand.
"We are in talks with Jharkhand government to pick up stakes in Patratu and Tenughat," NTPC CMD Arup Roy Choudhary told reporters here.
He said the undertaking would pick up 76 per cent equity in these two projects which have a combine capacity of 2,640 MW.
"Right now I can only say the talks are on between us and Jharkhand government", Choudhary said.
These power projects have coal linkages and are running on very low efficiency level.
The company also aims to add 5,500 megawatts of capacity in 2011-12, Chairman Arup Roy Choudhury said on Tuesday.
In the current fiscal year to end-March 2011, the firm plans to add 3,100 MW capacity, he added.
