State-owned NTPC plans to raise over Rs 12,000 crore from both national and international sources in the next financial year for funding its future projects.
"Our capex for the next fiscal would be Rs 17,700 crore and we plan to raise 70 per cent of it from the global as well as the local markets," a senior NTPC official told reporters here.
The capacity to generate over 18,000 Mw is under execution and is expected to be commissioned in the next fiscal, he said.
NTPC would add 750 Mw by the end of the current fiscal in two separate units of 500 Mw and 250 Mw, he added.
The company's capex during the current fiscal was Rs 12,380 crore.
It reported a net profit of Rs 2,250 crore for the third quarter ended December, 2008.
