IT firm Nucleus Software Exports today posted a 47.77 per cent decline in its consolidated net profit at Rs 5.29 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2010.

This is against Rs 10.13 crore for the same quarter last year.

"This has been a difficult quarter with both revenue and profitability declining on a year-on-year and sequential basis, based on a weak order book at the beginning of the quarter," Nucleus Software CEO and Managing Director Vishnu R Dusad said.

However, at the end of the quarter, we have 15 new order wins and there will be improved performance in the coming quarters, he added.

The company's consolidated revenue for the quarter ending June 30, 2010 stood at Rs 66.13 crore compared to Rs 80.53 crore in the same quarter last year. Its total headcount as on June 30, 2010 stood at 1,528.
