Nusli Wadia, an independent director on the boards of Tata Steel, Tata Motors and Tata Chemicals, has filed a defamation suit against Interim Chairman of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata, Tata Sons and directors of Tata Sons claiming Rs 3,000 crore in damages.

The suit has been filed after three Tata group companies sought to remove Wadia as an independent director saying that Wadia tried to galvanise other independent directors against the Tatas apart from acting in concert with ousted Chairman Cyrus Mistry.

Wadia sought proof from Tata Sons on these allegations and as there was no satisfactory answer, he moved the HC on Thursday.
