Nykaa raises $3.4 million

Mumbai-based FSN E-Commerce Ventures, owner of beauty e-commerce portal Nykaa.com, has raised Rs 20 crore ($3.4 million) in funding from private investors, including high networth individuals and non residential Indians. It plans to use the proceeds to enhance its marketing initiatives, introduce new technology and manage inventory, which includes a little over 300 brands, the company said.

Sudiksha attracts impact funds

Sudiksha Knowledge Solutions, a social enterprise, which runs a chain of 23 pre-schools targeting the urban poor in and around Hyderabad, has raised Rs 1.26 crore from a clutch of impact investors. This is a precursor to raising another $2 million over the next 6-12 months as part of Series A funding, said co-founder and chief executive P Naveen Kumar.

Hippocampus raises $2.39 million

Hippocampus Learning Centres, which offers education services to rural children, has raised Rs 14.4 crore ($2.39 million) from investors led by the Asian Development Bank. Existing investor Unitus Seed Fund also participated in this round, while Khosla Impact Fund came in as a new investor.

ShepHertz raises $260,000

Gurgaon-based ShepHertz Technologies, a start-up that provides a cloud platform for application developers, has received Rs 1.6 crore in funding from existing investors, including Kae Capital and Blume Ventures.
