IT major Cognizant's vice chairman has said that US President Barack Obama should ask the Indian government to provide stability in tax regime, policy and laws.
Speaking to Business Standard on the sidelines of Great Lakes institute's 10th anniversary celebrations at Chennai on Friday, Lakshmi Narayanan said that stability in tax regime, policy and laws would help companies think about the long term and plan their investments accordingly.
“Clearly that's the expectation Obama would have and should express that here,” said Narayanan, who is part of the executive management team of Cognizant, which has a large presence in the US market.
The Indian government's spending on technology is among the lowest, Narayanan said.
As technology is the way to bring in transparency and effeciency, Obama could offer help in building these systems in India, he added.

He added that visa issues will fall into place once collaboration happens.
