Oberoi enters into pact for two luxury properties in Qatar

One would be a 250 key luxury hotel in the West Bay area of Doha and the other will be a 148 key luxury serviced apartment building located at Lusail in Doha

Hospitality chain Oberoi group has entered into a management contract with Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company (SAQ) for two new luxury properties at Doha.

While one would be a 250 key luxury hotel being developed in the West Bay area of Doha, the other will be a 148 key luxury serviced apartment building located at Lusail in Doha, the company said in a statement.

Oberoi group Executive Chairman PRS Oberoi said, "We are extremely pleased to have been selected by the Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company (SAQ) to assist them in the design and management of these two projects and we look forward to bringing the Oberoi hospitality to the Qatar market."
 

The group is in process of constructing 'The Oberoi Al Zorah' in the United Arab Emirates and expects to open the hotel in the second quarter of 2016.

Founded in 1934, The Oberoi Group operates 30 hotels under the 'Oberoi' and 'Trident' brands in six countries, with 23 hotels and resorts in India and seven hotels overseas. It also has two luxury Nile Cruisers and a Motor Vessel in the backwaters of Kerala.

The group is also engaged in flight catering, airport restaurants, travel and tour services, car rentals, project management and corporate air charters.
