Oct car sales up 14.60%, bike sales dip 6.74%

Domestic passenger car sales increased 14.60% in October to 1,05,878 units from 92,389 units in the same month last year.

According to figures released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), motorcycle sales decline 6.74% to 6,57,874 units from 7,05,467 units in the corresponding month of the previous year.

Total two-wheeler sales in October was down 3.73% at 7,93,420 units when compared with 8,24,182 units in the same month a year ago.

Commercial vehicle sales during the month increased 12.03% to 43,645 units from 38,955 units sold in October 2006.
