Steel projects proposed in the state to go under the scanner again as the steel & mines department will review all 50 MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) signed for this sector on June 6-7. Ahead of the crucial review, the department has sought detailed information from the companies on physical and financial progress achieved till end of March this year. The review meeting will be chaired by minister for industries and steel & mines Raghunath Mohanty."We have asked the steel companies to provide details on steel capacity achieved, capacity of captive power plant (CPP) commissioned, investment made till the end of 2011-12, overall investment made so far, total land requirement as well as land already acquired by June 1”, said a senior official of the department.
