Domestic cab aggregator Ola has set a time horizon of 20-30 years to unlock the potential of customized transportation and build mobility for a billion Indians.
"Our mission is to build mobility for a billion Indians. Mobility in India has not been built by either the government or by private enterprise in the way it has to be built for the future. With so many Indians coming to our cities and middle class who need proper mobility solutions, our mission is that. There is so much of work to be done?. I believe it a 20-30 years job still in front of us", said Bhavish Aggarwal, chief executive officer and co-founder, Ola said in an interactive session at Xavier Institute of Management - Bhubaneswar here.
Speaking about the mobility sector, Aggarwal said, the time now is both exciting and disruptions.
Stating there is so much work to be done the world over in the sphere of mobility and innovations taking place in industry the company official, said the ride sharing platform is more relevant in India.
In the next 10 years, the proportion of people's movement done by ride sharing platform like Ola will be significantly higher in India, than China and the Western world, he believed .
The company's product Ola Share allows travelers to book a cab ride, and share the same with trusted fellow commuters. It connects the travellers with other travellers on the go - without the need to plan, de-tour or wait for other passengers to join.
The first big goal for the taxi aggregator to connect a billion people is that it needs supply of cars and drivers.
