On-demand beauty services platform Stayglad on Friday said it has raised an undisclosed amount in Series A funding from Bessemer Venture Partners and former chief executive officer of Lakme Lever Anil Chopra.

It had earlier raised seed round of funding from Tracxn Labs and Sahil Barua, co-founder of Delhivery, in June. The company is founded by three IIT Kharagpur graduates, Kavish Desai, Shashank Gupta and Prateek Jain, who have worked at Flipkart, Adobe and Amazon, respectively.

StayGlad has in-house beauty professionals who service customers at the convenience of their home. Every StayGlad beautician has five to eight years of experience and undergoes additional skill training process once selected.

"In a short period of time, we have been able to build a loyal customer base, which reflects in the 70 per cent repeat orders every month. We have been growing 20 per cent week on week, word of mouth and endorsement by our existing customers continue to be the biggest channel for consumer acquisition," said Jain, who is also the chief executive officer at Stayglad.

"The beauty services industry is huge and growing at a rate of more than 20 per cent per annum. The online and convenience of having these services at home will be a big game changer for the industry and customers," said Chopra.

The other players in the on-demand beauty service segment include Belita, Vyomo -- backed by cricketer Yuvraj Singh's YouWeCan Ventures and VanityCube, among others.
