State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) today said its Assam oilfields produced 1.19 million tonnes of crude oil in 2011-12, a tad higher than the target.
"[Assam] Asset has registered a 180 degree turn around to surpass its crude oil production target of 1.15 million tonne by producing 1.190 million tonne," the company said in a press statement here.
It also produced more natural gas than the target when it pumped out 448 million standard cubic metre per day against the target of 474.1 mmscmd.
"The same trend is repeated in gas sales also. The Asset has surpassed its target of 240.2 mmscmd by registering sales of 250.0 mmscmd," it said.
ONGC drilled all of its committed 34 wells during the year.
