ONGC is planning to set up a 7.5 million tonne capacity refinery in Rajasthan with an investment of Rs 9,000 crore. "The crude from Barmer oil fields, which the company dug in collaboration with UK's Cairn Energy, has been allotted to ONGC-MRPL (Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals) for refining," Subir Raha, chairman and managing director of ONGC, said today. The refinery would be ready by 2006-end, and petroleum products would be made available within 36-40 months after the project takes final shape, he added. |
