ONGC to begin CBM output from December

State-run ONGC has said it will begin commercial production of coal bed methane (CBM) from its Jharia block from December-January.

Initially, CBM production will be 5,000-10,000 cubic metres per day of gas but it would be hiked to 50,000 cubic metres per day by November 2009, ONGC Director (Exploration) D K Pande said. The target is to increase the production to 4 lakh cubic metres per day by 2011.
