A Srinivas Rao, President, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in a press note here has clarified that the projects coming up following the signing of MoU with ONGC by the KCCI are not only environment friendly but will add to further improvement in the environment of these projects.

"We are of the firm opinion that all the projects undertaken by Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) are eco-friendly. For example the sulphur content in the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is less than one part per million (1 PPM) compared to transport fuel running with thousands of PPM of sulphur. Once the project is commissioned here the district will have a face lift with clean fuel and uninterrupted and with minimum of transmission of power loss", he has stated.

The public should support this project, he said.
