ONGC wins Dalal Street Investment Journal PSU Award

State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has bagged the Dalal Street Investment Journal PSU Award for 2010.

ONGC got the awards for Excellent Overall Performance in the category of 'Heavyweights' and the 'Highest Market Capitalisation' among PSUs in the category of 'Wealth Builders'.

Company Chairman and Managing Director R S Sharma received both the awards, ONGC said in a press statement here.

ONGC clinched the top slot in the category of Heavyweights for reported sales of Rs 63,618 crore, net profit of Rs 16,126 crore and total assets of Rs 1,02,573 crore as per balance sheet of FY10.

The award in the category of Wealth Builders was given to ONGC for the Highest Market Cap (December 2009) of Rs 2,53,680.50 crore which is almost 13 per cent of all listed PSUs.

 

A total of 18 awards were given out to PSUs in the categories of Heavy Weights, Wealth Builders, Growth Valuable and Efficiency Epitome and the Special Life Time Achievement Award.
