OnMobile acquires 3G video tech from US company

Mobile value-added services company, OnMobile, today acquired 3G video technology and mobile solutions developed by Silicon Valley-based Dilithium Networks.

This acquisition will provide OnMobile with Dilithium's extensive patent portfolio of over 175 patents in advanced video technologies. Dilithium's technology will help the company expand video mobile solutions, and deliver novel 3G value added services.

"With Dilithium's 3G technology, we will continue to offer wide range of rich video mobile VAS services that are carrier grade, field-tested, proven and spectrum cost-efficient. These include video calls, video RBT, multi-screen video streaming on demand and video optimisation," said Arvind Rao, CEO and MD, OnMobile.

 

Dilithium has a customer base of 120 service providers and operators in more than 60 countries and comprises over 1.5 billion subscribers. "The technology offer by Dilithium has been validated by leading global customers like China Mobile, Yahoo, BSNL, Vodafone, France Telecom, Etisalat, Zain, HTC and Qualcomm," said Marwan Jabri, CTO, Dilithium.
