Opto Circuits net up 18% in Q2

Bangalore-based Opto Circuits (India), a provider of medical devices, today reported 18 per cent growth in its net profit at Rs 66.9 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2009 compared to the corresponding quarter last year. Its sales income also grew by 18 per cent to Rs 255.7 crore compared to the year ago period.

Its operating profit for the quarter under review also shown an increase of 25.8 per cent to Rs 83.8 crore compared to the year ago period.

Vinod Ramnani, chairman and managing director, OCI, said, “The long term agreements signed through our wholly-owned US subsidiary, Criticare Systems Inc., have helped us diversify our product portfolio and expand our presence in many key markets in Europe, United States and Latin America during the second quarter.”
