Organic Ltd set to export psyllium overseas

Lucknow-based Organic India Pvt Ltd, a leader in certified organic products range with its associate offices in the US and Israel, is keen on expanding its overseas business. The company will be exporting three blends of psyllium to the US worth Rs 20 crore.
 
"This is the first time that we are exporting a complete ready-to-eat and certified organic tri-active blend to the US market. India grows 85 per cent of the world's psyllium crop and has been exporting in bulk for past many years," Krishna Gupta, chief executive officer, of the company told Business Standard.
 
The range comprises of peach, chocolate and orange flavour with tri-active blend of psyllium, aloe vera and inulin.
 
"Once we are done with the US, we would like to explore the markets of Australia, Israel, Germany, South Africa and the UK as well. For India, we need to first understand the market demand for such a product," added Gupta.
 
The company which started its operations in Uttar Pradesh about 10 years back has launched its product range with 15 premium quality ayurvedic ingredients.
 
The company has nearly 12,000 farmers and over 50,000 acres under contract farming at their farms in Azamgarh, Rajasthan and Bundelkhand.
