The corporates, eyeing space for expansion in the city, had to rely on services provided by unorganised property consultants earlier. The options are now wide open after the organised real estate consultants pitched in.

The organised consultants feel small property dealers in order to make petty gains swindled the customers as a result of which the customers lost faith in them and the organised sector is gaining from it.

Berkeley Realtech Ltd opened its office in Chandigarh two months ago and has already prepared a database of around 400 vacant spaces in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula regions for the corporates.

"The city is maturing towards the concept of organised real estate and the entry of 2-3 organised players in the city is a proof of that," said Sanjay Daduja, director, Berkeley Realtech Ltd.

Dahuja said with the tricity gaining momentum and with growth of Chandigarh Technology Park, Fashion Technology Park and other upcoming projects, tricity is the place every corporate want to be.

Searching land for corporates have been cumbersome and time-consuming process and corporate real estate requirements are time sensitive so they prefer seeking services from organised consultants as they offer solutions right from leasing to settling the legal formality for the property.

The unorganised property consultants do not see the entry of organised consultants in Chandigarh as any immediate threat to their business. They feel real estate business was about providing satisfaction to the customer and whoever does it successfully would eventually succeed.
