Oriflame India, a subsidiary of Swedish luxury cosmetic brand Oriflame, would add 50,000 more sales consultants this year, a top company official said here today.
As of now the company has 1,50,000 sales consultants, and by adding another 50,000, it will reach the 2-lakh figure, Oriflame India's Sales Director Shilpa Ajwani said.
According to Ajwani, the company is eyeing to triple its revenue in India in the next five years.
"India has been growing rapidly, in terms of potential, for direct marketing. According to the Indian Direct Marketing Association the present Rs 3,300 crore-market would become Rs 5,000 crore by the end of 2012. So we have immense potential to grow in this market," she told PTI.
Sales has been growing at the rate of 40 per cent in the last five years. India is one of the top three fast growing countries for Oriflame, she said adding that 25 per cent of its 790 products were manufactured in India.

The production capacity is being maximised and revenue wise Northern region contributes 32 per cent sales, Ajwani added.
The company has 12 branch offices and 1,267 distribution points all over the country.
Oriflame India has tied up with a Delhi-based NGO Deepaalaya through which it will donate Rs 2 on every sale of an Oriflame lipstick for the education of school children.
