Fan maker Ortem Ltd plans to expand sales in Rajasthan. "After identifying the high potential that exists in the market, Ortem has set ambitious growth targets for the current year. To achieve these targets, the company has launched aggressive marketing initiatives in the state," Anoop Malik, senior vice-president, Ortem, said.

At present, Ortem sells 12,000 fans a year in the state, which constitutes about 6 per cent of its all-India sales.

Malik said the company had set a sales target of 25,000 fans for the current financial year.

To achieve this target, Ortem seeks to expand its marketing network in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Kota, Ajmer, Sriganganagar and other parts of Rajasthan.

It also intends to double its present strength of 80 dealers and 150 retailers this year.

The company registered a turnover of Rs 30 crore last year. In the next two years, it plans to achieve a turnover of Rs 40 crore.

Malik said his company had tied up with Samsung Corporation of South Korea to market induction cooking systems in India.

The company also has a tie-up with Brother Industries of Japan for marketing and distributing zig-zag sewing machines in India under the Brother-Ortem brand name.
