Consumer goods company Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care (P&G) is selling its Hyderabad unit, which manufactures Vicks VapoRub for the export market, for an undisclosed sum to Maksons.
The sale is part of an exercise by P&G to achieve cost efficiency by outsourcing products from contractors.
Maksons would be able optimally utilise the plant and deliver products at competitive prices.
As per an arrangement, Maksons will purchase the land, building and machinery of the Hyderabad factory.
It will continue to export Vicks VapoRub to P&G
