Madurai-based Paramount Airways is planning to operate up to 150 south-bound flights a week from Hyderabad by exclusively positioning two new Embraer aircrafts here from next month. The upcoming domestic airline currently operates 15-20 flights a week, two flights a day, between Hyderabad and Chennai. The two advanced 70-seater jets acquired from Embraer, each costing about $40 million, would make Hyderabad their base from the first week of October to increase connectivity across south India. with The addition of these two aircraft, the fleet strength will become five, M Thiagarajan, MD of Paramount Airways, said. Besides introducing an additional early morning flight between Hyderabad and Chennai, Paramount will also launch two flight services a day to Bangalore, and a daily flight to Kochi, Coimbatore, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati from mid-October 2006. |
