To expand its expertise base in the high-end robotics engineering, Pune-based Precision Automation and Robotics India (PARI) has set up a training and research centre here.

The company will give training to engineering graduates to master the latest trends in robotics automation, Mangesh Kale, managing director, PARI, said.

The research centre will come up on a two-acre land near the company's existing facilities. "We will invest Rs 5 crore for its development," Kale said.

According to Kale, the robotics engineering market in India is expanding at a rate of 20 per cent and there is a shortage of trained hands to meet the growing requirements.

"We will train two batches of 50 students in a one-year programme and will absorb all of them for our needs," Kale said, adding that in the second phase of expansions candidates would be trained to handle maintenance, upgradation and customisation of equipment supplied by PARI.

The students will also get chance to work on the research projects of the company, NR Kulkarni, PARI's head of training, said.
