The likely shift from China to India for sourcing of sanitaryware products is expected to provide a major push for Parryware Roca's export revenue. The company expects to boost its export revenue and share of exports in the total revenue to go up to 20 per cent from the present 4-5 per cent in the next two years. |
K E Ranganathan, managing director, Parryware Roca, said, "A number of international players were looking at sourcing sanitaryware products from India due to lower manufacturing and logistics costs, English language skills and availability of product development capabilities. "We see India emerging as a sourcing hub for sanitaryware products in the near future," he added. |
The sanitaryware market in China is estimated to be 65 million pieces a year, while India's size is one-third of China at about 22 million pieces a year, according to Ranganathan. |
Parryware Roca presently supplies to OEMs in the US and expects to widen the customer base in the next two years. It also exports to South Africa and West Asia. |
To meet the burgeoning demand in the domestic and export markets Parryware Roca has embarked Rs 100 crore, spread in the two years, capacity expansion programme, under which the total capacity of the company will be scaled up to 6 million units a year from the present 4 million units a year. |
