Patel Engg plans 1,200 MW plant in Gujarat

Patel Engineering is planning its maiden venture in thermal power generation by proposing to set up a 1,200 MW thermal power plant near Bhavnagar, Gujarat with a proposed investment of Rs 5,000 crore.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE today, the project will be executed through its subsidiary Patel Energy.

"The coal for the plant will be imported, and will confirm to international norms. The electricity generated will be sold to power traders, captive consumers and state governments," the release added.
