IT major Patni Computer Systems today said it has secured a five year contract, worth more than 20 million pound (more than Rs 145 crore) with UK IT services provider, 2e2.

The contract will provide a range of support services for 2e2's end-user clients and the delivery of in-house support services.

The contract has the potential to scale-up rapidly in the first two years, the company said in a statement issued here.

2e2 is one of the fastest-growing IT service providers in Europe and has operations across the UK and Isle of Man, the Netherlands, Spain, Ireland and the Channel Islands. 2e2 works with companies within the telecommunications, media, healthcare, retail, transport, public, financial services and professional services sectors.

Patni anticipates starting to provide initial services under this new contract before the end of the year. This deal is expected to be strategic in nature for both companies with complementary service offerings in the European market.

"In common with all IT and infrastructure services companies, we have to look at the best ways to provide value to our clients. Working in partnership with Patni brings us flexibility and extra skills and services that we can leverage for our existing and new clients," said 2e2 Managing Director (UK) Neil Allpress.

Patni's EMEA President Derek Kemp said, "We are pleased to confirm our contract with 2e2 for end-user support services such as help desk, service desk and field operations. 2e2 has an excellent reputation for customer service in the marketplace and is growing quickly as a result.

We are proud of the role that we will play in helping 2e2 to build its business still further."
